From my text book "Meggs History of Graphic Design", there is a picture that is really interesting in Chapter Two. Instead of calling it a picture it is whether a short pictographic inscriptions that describe the Minoan or Cretan picture symbols that were in use in 2800 b.c and help evolve the written language. In the descriptions of wording it shows the name and meaning to each word and written in different cultures like Cretan, Phoenician, Greek, Latin, and Modern English. The reason why I found this pictographic inscriptions so fascinating because it shows how we grown in so many years and how we influence each other like today where we take in different inspirations and create our own work of art.
